A couple weeks ago a friend showed me her beautiful wedding album and we realized that in just a few years a lot has changed with weddings. One of my favorite blogs Style Me Petty couples are adding more quaint details like hand made signs, choosing smaller venues and intimate details.
I’m also starting to hear the same words over and over again from brides and grooms when they describe their wedding: vintage, non traditional and timeless. I couldn’t be happier that we are starting to appreciate the olderder artistic styles, embracing the idea of rich portraiture and journalistic photography again. I swear I was born in the wrong generation….
Here are some trends that I’m loving for weddings in 2011:
1.) Posh-paperi: Using brown bag wraps for the menus. The bags were able to be filled with delicious fall goodies.. a great idea for a menu and favor combination! I think this would be cute for a bridal shower or for any wedding. You could just fill the bag with goodies appropriate for the season.
2.) Once Wed: This site embraces the 1930′s classic style wedding and shares a ton of ideas.
3.) Poppies and Posies: floral and event design company based in New York City. Known for our garden inspired aesthetic and the latest moss trend for 2011 center pieces.
4.) Butter Fly Rice Tossers: Again from Posh by Style Me Pretty. What a great idea!
5.) Three Potato Four: Vintage science lab Boiling Flask glassware with flat-bottom and roped neck. Love!
I will post more later. ♥
